There was a news story today, about how People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), objected to the now widely viewed video of President Obama killing a fly.
For me, it was hilarious beyond belief. It was so bizarre, I would have been embarrassed to even waste my time, or my words, trying to explain how crazy statements like that reduce PETA credibility to a minus quantity, and probably do more to harm animals, than help animals.
I don’t really want to dwell on that, or get into any lengthy discussion; suffice it to say, I just laughed, and shook my head when I read the story. I was wordless, and speechless.
As to the President stalking, and killing that fly, I was quite impressed; he would get a high-five from me, if I were there.
Now, believe it or not, there is another news story that makes the PETA story seem absolutely rational.

“(CNSNews.com) – The Justice Department confirmed last week that FBI agents in Afghanistan are reading Miranda warnings to suspected terrorists captured there, a practice that Republican congressmen this week branded as “crazy” and “stupid.”

Again, twice in the same day, I am at a loss for words.
When our troops capture our enemies on the battlefield, they have to be sure that they are read their Miranda rights? Our troops have to treat our enemies as if they have the same Constitutional rights, as they themselves have ?
I am appalled, and speechless; this country is doomed if this stupidity becomes the norm.
Our enemies are laughing at us right this moment. Bin Laden is probably sitting in a circle with his fellow terrorists, chortling at our stupidity, and mocking our country, and our President.
When Russian Premier Khrushchev pounded on the table with his shoe, at the UN, and declared that they would bury us with our own shovels, THIS is what he meant. He knew, just as all our other enemies knows, that our weakness would lead to our own demise.
I can’t say it any better than the Senators in the video, below, have said it….
I do apologize to PETA. Your actions, and beliefs, make much more sense, and are much more rational than our government empowering our enemies, and endangering our troops with the crazy notion that our enemies, who are intent on killing us, deserve the same right as our soldiers who are risking their lives to defend us.
This is a sick turn of events.
