This is a good example of how science, and emotion don’t mix, and how a scandal like Climategate is born.
Well-meaning folks/scientists, lose perspective, and are driven by their emotions to abandon the scientific method, and use scare tactics with a touch of hysteria, and urgency, and a Global myth, and a scandal are born.
Political, and financial opportunists know a good thing when they see it, and they know how to use scare tactics to profit from the emotions of the masses.
Because of the “Global Disaster” myth, large energy corporations, and individuals are poised to profit from new government forced energy policies, and Wall Street investors are salivating over a crazy Cap and Trade scheme that is very much like the derivatives schemes that have put us in our current dire financial straits, and our Federal government stands to gain handsomely from new taxes.
(It’s the classic “Chicken Little” story. Chicken Little, innocent and gullible, believes the sky is falling because Foxy Loxy is so convincing, and Foxy Loxy knows how to take control, and advantage, of the chicken yard masses.)
And where does all this loot come from ? Us, of course. The consumer always pays, and we, the taxpayers, will be funding all of this, in no small measure, forever.
And this is happening because good science has been abandoned in favor of emotions ginned-up by irrational folks who, through their own self-interest, and self-generated fears, feel perfectly justified in using tactics such as Greenpeace’s “issue emotionalization” tactics to spread and justify their fears to other like-minded folks
This Global Disaster business, as it has evolved, is clearly a fantasy sustained by junk science, politics, self-interest, self-emotion, and just plain fraud.
These “Global Warming” folks are no different, and no less dangerous, than those folks who brought us to the brink of financial collapse. If they have their way, our financial collapse will be complete.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m not trying to taint all scientist; there are plenty of smart guys out there with integrity, and who know the score, and know the truth. We need to listen to them, more, and try to find some truth in this Global Disaster mess.
