I wish I were a racist.

I think I’m going to go over to the other side, and learn how to be a racist.

At this stage of my life, I wish I had been a racist, because, not being a racist has no upside; there is no visible reward that I can discern. I don’t see a happier country; I don’t see more tolerance; I don’t see colorblindness. In fact, I see much more racism, now, and hatred, than when I was a kid. It’s much worse, now; or so I’m told.

I’m constantly being told that I still belong to a racist country, and that the collective I’s haven’t done enough.

I’m not young; but I still have my wits about me. When I look back, my life would have been much easier if I’d been a racist.

Instead of cringing when I heard a racial slur, I could actually join-in, and add my own demeaning rhetoric.

And, being white, I could feel secure in knowing that I am superior to every other race in the world; it would make me feel much better.

And when someone told me a racist joke, I wouldn’t have to walk-away in disgust, or express my indignation; instead, I could just laugh, and agree, and tell the joke to all of my other friends.

And I wouldn’t have to avoid the racist jerks, because, I’d be one of them.

And when it came to hiring someone, I could relieve myself of alot of angst by being able to disqualify any applicant just by looking at them, and make some phony excuse about them not being qualified. And then I could have a good racist laugh with my racist friends, over lunch.

And god forbid that one of them moves into my neighborhood, my neighborhood would not be one that they would even dare to move to, I’m sure.

And when I couldn’t get into college, I could just blame it on affirmative action.

And the same goes for my career; one of them (being any race other than white) is promoted over me, I could also blame that on affirmative action.

Yep, life would be alot easier as a racist.

I wouldn’t get my ire up when I hear the bigots saying that all whites are racists, or that the whole country is fraught with racism. And I wouldn’t be made to feel like I should defend myself, or look for some sort of absolution.

If I were a racist, I wouldn’t take the bigoted remarks so personal, because, I would know that I am better than any other race.

I wonder if there is a way that I could simply switch over to the racist side ? Is there some kind of membership required ? Is there some kind of organization that I can join which would clearly mark me as a racist ?

If I switched over, then it wouldn’t bother me so much when things like the Joe Wilson “liar” incident is made into a phony racial incident by some stupid bigot.

And I wouldn’t get my hackles up when any criticism, or any sort of opposition to the President, is called racist.

And it would be very satisfying to me, the racist, to hear our own President refer to “typical white people”, or to hear him say on national TV that a white policeman was stupid when he arrested a black man, and then matter-of-factly link it to racism in this country. It would be a confirmation of my racist beliefs.

And, as a true-blue racist, I could applaud someone like California Representative Maxine Waters for wanting to investigate the racial motivations of the 9/12 Washington D.C. tea party rally. (Hmmmm… does she understand that racsism, per se, is not illegal in this country ? Yet.)

Being a racist, I’d be overjoyed to hear Jimmy Carter, the worst President of my life time (in my opinion), says, over, and over, that opposition to our black President is motivated by racism. I always knew that he was one of us. (Someone needs to tell Carter that he’s not living in the South of the 1920’s, and ’30’s, any more.)

For gosh sakes, we have a black President, and his supporters still play the Race Card at the drop of a hat, and, he stays silent.

It’s just baloney; all the racial talk is about narcissism, and bigotry, and self-interest, and “I want my way at any cost”, and “if I have to call the opposition a bunch of racists to further my own goals, so be it.” It is sickening to hear all this racism, and bigotry.

I am tired of being a typical white person who isn’t a racist, and I’m tired of being made to feel like I have to defend myself and other non-racists, against racist charges from an endless stream of bigots who only seek to monger hate for the sole purpose of furthering their own narcissistic goals.

Racist are bad, but the bigots are worse. A bigot is a narrow-minded soul who uses the Race Card when their own intelligence, and their own arguments fail them. They are petty people, and they just want to perpetuate racism, and hate. They are despicable.

At least a racist believes in something greater than themselves. In a twisted sort of way, a racist, thinks the world will be a better place if thier beliefs prevail, while a bigot want to make ‘the world’ better, where a bigot wants to make ‘their own world’ better.

Given a choice between the two, being a racist, or being a bigot, I’d choose racism without any hesitation.

Racism is more honest, and natural, for me, it is starting to take on an attractive glow. Hmmmmm…… what is so wrong about one race believing that they are superior to another race ? Forget it; I’m not going there…

So, is it too late for me to switch over to the racist side ? Is there still time for me to learn how to spew nonsensical racial slurs, and venom ?

I suppose it is too late for me; my upbringing probably spoiled me for any future as a racist, or as a bigot. Darn. I’m just not a hater; I never was; I don’t understand hatred, or pettiness, for that matter, so I would not make a very good bigot, either. I don’t think I could conjure up enough hate to fill a thimble, so I guess that precludes me from being a racist, and/or, a bigot.

I’m doomed, I suppose; I’ll have to maintain my status quo. I’ll just have to be content with the truth that I see in my own personal life, and in the history that I’ve seen, and try to ignore those bigots, and racist, that taint our way of life.

I take comfort in knowing that I’ve passed that same status quo on to my kids, and a slew of grandkids, so maybe in a thousand years from now, no one will even understand what racism and bigotry was way back in 2009.

And that is just my opinion !
