The Obama administration has announced that Gitmo detainee, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, an ‘alleged’ mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, and four others will be brought to New York for trial in a civilian court.
These defendants could have easily been tried in a military court, but Obama chose, instead, to put America on trial to emphasize his apparent disdain for this country.
Instead of Chariot Races in the Roman Coliseum, and gladiators slaying each other, Obama is giving the people the modern day version in the New York courts. It will be a Roman Circus, for sure.
The Obama administration is giving a forum to terrorists that they could only have dreamed of: world wide attention, and world wide propaganda, FOR THEIR CAUSE. And it will go on for years, and years…
Trying these guys in civilian courts is a mistake, and it is a despicable decision.
I am not an expert in politics, about I am old enough, and savvy enough to know that politicians often pull stunts like this in order to detract from larger issues when times are bad. In this case, I assume that President Obama wants to take the focus off of important issues, and problems, like the failing economy.
In addition to distracting Americans, he gets to reinforce his base by further demonizing America, by further demonizing the Bush Presidency. This Circus will make his base happy, and sustain their adoration of Him, while they are losing their jobs, and houses, and lives. Obviously, he loves being President, and it seems that he will do anything, including sacrificing his own country, to retain that position.
I know he does not love the United States of America, and it’s Constitution.
This politics at it’s worst. I guess it wasn’t enough for Obama to travel around the world apologizing for the United States. Now he wants to air our countries dirty laundry in front of the world, and hurt our image in the world.
And that is just my opinion.
