Senator Boxer dresses-down well-dressed protesters.

The video, below, says a everything about California Barbara Boxer. It is short, but funny, and revealing

Senator Barbara Boxer explains why there is so much opposition to President Obama’s Health Care Reform Plan. To her, it is simple: the opposition to Health Care Reform is simply an orchestrated effort to hurt/defeat the President, and affect the elections; apparently the protesters are not really concerned about the Health Care Reform Plan.

She seems to be bothered by protesters who are well-dressed; somehow their attire proves that they are not sincere in their objections to Health Care Reform. Then she goes wayyyyyy back to Bush/Gore election controversy, in Florida, in the 2000 election, and, in her mind, makes a connection between those well-dressed protesters of 9 years ago, and the current well-dressed protesters.

What ? LOL…. I am a Californian, and it is more than a little embarrassing for me to hear and see one of my Senators trying to make a connection between the current Health Care Reform protesters, and those protesters in Florida, in the year 2000, who were objecting to her presence.

And then, to top that, with an air of quiet superiority, she tells how she brought calm to the Florida protesters by invoking the name of their hero, Ronald Reagan, another Californian. (I guess those Florida protesters fell under the soothing spell of Senator Boxer, and everything was copacetic.)

Given her talents as a soothing influence on well-dressed protesters, I think she should conduct more Town Hall meetings on the Health Care Reform Plan; she certainly can quell any protesters by dropping another Reagan bomb.

Oh Lord, help me understand !

Senator Boxer seems to have a low opinion of protesters, in

general; as far as I can tell, she isn’t known to be a champion of quiet and balanced protest, and disagreement; I don’t think of her as being a calming influence on the debate. I never heard her objecting when President Bush was “hanged”, or “burned”, in effigy, or when Democrats openly expressed pure rage, and hatred of the President.

Here is the video; judge for yourself:

This video is the subject of another post, however, if you are interested in viewing a fairly lengthy discourse about her views on the Health Care Reform Plan, then this is an excellent source.

My primary interest is in her off-hand remark, in the second half of the video, that if the Plan is not passed by 60 Senators, then they will revert to the 51 %
