If nothing else, Senator Barbara Boxer is consistent.
Instead of being concerned about the apparent fraud in some parts of the scientific, and political arena, when it comes to Global Warming, and the current Climategate scandal, California Senator Barbara Boxer’s solution is to kill the messengers.
She wants to track down the rascals, and prosecute those folks who exposed the scandalous emails about fraudulent environmental (Global Warming) data. This is clearly her normal method of operation. She threatens her opposition with legal action, hoping to intimidate them into curbing their actions, and, also, to intimidate any future whistle-blowers.
This is an obvious, and disgusting tactic, and it reveals the workings of small minds.
She clearly does not like opposition.
If she really cared about the environment, and if her belief in “Global Warming” is true, and strong, she would be concerned about the emails, and the possible fraud, and she would be clamoring for a Congressional investigation into Climategate. She should strive to learn the truth, instead of trying to bury it.
Instead, her attitude is to hang-tough to her past beliefs, no matter what, and bully the opposition. She doesn’t care about learning the truth, she just cares about her own agenda, and everyone else can eat cake.
In the video, below, which inspired this blog, Senator Boxer states clearly her intention is to pursue the criminal aspects of the Climategate investigation. She uses phrases such as “email theft gate”, and “this is a crime”, etc, and sites certain criminal offenses.
There is not one word about getting to the truth of the emails, it is all about the “getting” of the emails.
Apparently, she simply does not care about the truth. She has her own agenda, and her own Cap and Trade bill, and it would be extremely embarrassing for her if the truth nullified her bill, and possibly exposed her wrong-headed belief in Global Warming.
It would certainly kill her re-election in 2010, and she apparently cares more about being re-elected, than she does about her country, and the damage that will be done by adhering to a bogus “Global Warming” agenda.
If Climategate is bogus, and is just so much politics from the opposition and disbelievers, then, so be it. I can handle that.
But if it is more than that, and if it does have credibility, then it needs to be investigated by our government, and, perhaps, we need to make some kind of mid-course correction in our attitudes toward this ongoing Global Warming debate.
We need to encourage whistle-blowers, not intimidate them as Boxer seems bent on doing.
We cannot just keep going full-speed ahead with massive programs, like Pelosi’s Cap & Trade Bill, or Boxer-Kerry Bill, and commit ourselves to a future of a lower standard of living caused by higher taxes, and higher energy bills, based on scientific data that may be tainted.
Senator Boxer is on the chopping block in 2010; She needs to be retired. There are two good Republicans that are currently vying for her seat: Chuck Devore, and Carly Fiorina, either of which can do better job than Barbara Boxer.
The video below came to my attention through an email I received from Chuck Devore, and it is the inspiration for this blog because I think Boxer is out of touch, she has lost the necessary national perspective that a good Senator should have; her perspective seems to be agenda based, and truth be damned.
And that is just my opinion.
