I just hate it that Nancy Pelosi is from California !
In this article, Pelosi condemns U.S. health insurance industry, Pelosi blasts a report that says that the health care reform bill will cause premiums to increase, and then, what’s worse, she, and Reid, threaten to remove an anti-trust exemption for the trade association, “America’s Health Insurance Plans” that sponsored the report.
I don’t care that she blasts the report; she has no obligation to accept it, and every right to deny it, and present her own facts, and figures, and conclusions.
But, to threaten these folks with her power, is despicable. Just who does she think she is ?
Quote “Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid testified at a Senate hearing on Wednesday in favor of revoking the industry’s antitrust exemption, and Pelosi said there was “tremendous interest” in that approach.”
By her standards, dissent is bad. You are UnAmerican if you voice you opposition of health care at a meeting, and, if you are a trade association, we will bring the hammer down, and take away your “anti-trust exemption”.
SHE is the ultimate reason that we can’t have government health care: do you really want to bow to some low level government bureaucrat with the same mentality as Pelosi, and Reid, who will arrogantly push their weight around, and threaten you if you dissent ?
We just cannot give them this kind of power.
Have you ever had a tax audit ? I had a routine tax audit many years ago, and, as a result, I had to pay some additional tax. It was no big deal.
But, during that audit, when I tried to dissent, and tried to reason with this auditor, as I have a right to do, she simply dismissed me with a wave of her hand, and threatened me with many more years of audits; she made it clear that she could make my life miserable.
So, I shut-up, and took my medicine; prudence prevailed, though it took awhile before I stopped steaming with anger.
This auditor was just like Pelosi: she knew she had the power, and she would wield it whenever it suited her own agenda.
Do you really want to have someone like Pelosi deciding what’s best for you, and your family, when it comes to health care ?
And that is just my opinion.
