Chuck Devore is running against Carly Fiorina, and Tom Campbell, in a June 8th primary that will decide who will run against California Senator Barbara Boxer. By PPIC the poll numbers, Tom Campbell is the current leader, and Fiorina is a close second, and Devore is a distant third, but still within a 5% statistical reach. Devore’s numbers seem to be increasing, while Fiorina is having difficulty holding on to what she has.
Chuck Devore is a California Assemblyman, who is also in the military reserve. He has served in the reserves for over 24 years, and is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, and is proud of his service, and, rightly-so, and included that description on the ballot.
Apparently, his opponent, Fiorina, judging from a Twitter post, and follow-up attacks, resents his military accolades. She refers to them as being “deceptive”. (Click here to read post http://twitter.com/CarlyforCA/statuses/14363272125)
Establishment Republicans support Fiorina, and want to knock Campbell out of the race by dealing a death blow to Devore. They surmise that Devore supporters would flock to Fiorina, (which is a risky guess).
In an obvious last-ditch attempt to knock Devore out of the primary race, he is being accused of embellishing his military service by implying that his service included being “shot at”, which Devore denies, and which he has proven is false, and even has an audio record to prove it.
Some dishonorable people, who are none to bright, either, fabricated the story from almost thin air, from a true experience he had in Lebanon while on a civilian mission. He only mentioned the trip to demonstrate his broader knowledge of the middle east, and not to “embellish” is military prowess. When you read the truth, it is clear that it takes a crooked mind, and a desperate campaign, to conjure such fiction, not to mention a total lack of ethics, or of a sense of shame.
Besides, Devore is not a stupid person, which he would have to be in order to try such an obvious deception.

Fiorina must have studied Barbara Boxer’s tactics, because this what we can expect from her. Come October, just before the election: a last minute smear campaign against whomever is her opponent. My guess is that Devore is going to be a much harder candidate to smear, than Fiorina, who’s “skeletons” Boxer can afford to root-out, and expose.
Of course, like vultures circling a wounded animal, news outlets, and opposition bloggers, alike, are smelling blood, and are eager to denigrate anyone who openly stands on principles, i.e., Devore.
It is all a sad, and obvious, twisting of the truth by his opponents, and it is clearly meant to besmirch, and belittle his military service. His detractors are clearly trying to make a scandal out of a mole hill. Supposedly, Fiorina has a staff of so-called bloggers in her pocket to do her bidding, so it is no surprise that a nothing issue has gathered such attention. It is probably a tactical mistake on her part, because the truth will raise the ire of veterans, rather her hope that veterans will reject him, contrary to her obvious intended purpose. I’m a veteran, and I certainly resent her attempts to nullify, and dishonor his service.
I was in the military, and it almost makes me ill to hear someone like Fiorina, who couldn’t even get off her duff, and vote, and then has the arrogance to belittle a guy like Devore. All she has done is belittle every other veteran who served honorably.
Who does she think she is, Barbara Boxer ?
If she somehow prevails in the primary, and then manages to defeat Barbara Boxer, she will fit in real well with the rest of the establishment Republican crowd in Washington. And that is not a compliment.
And that is just my opinion
